'Tabi Po' Poster
'Tabi Po' is a short TV series (2017) shown in the Philippines about local myths and legends. I worked on this project as a lead 3D artist , responsible for developing all the 3d -related shots in the whole series. Responsibilities included concept design to actual asset development, workflow planning, matte painting & set extensions as well as compositing.
One of the money shots in this series was to make a day-to-night timelapse of a town. All of the environment is matte painted, made by stitching stock images together with the exception of the sky which was simulated in 3D.
The cloud shadows, overall lighting changes and the lights in the town were all made in comp.
This is another interesting shot. There is one scene where the protagonist is slashed on the shirt, but the stunt would be to dangerous to perform in real life so I had to recreate the slash of the cloth in 3D instead. The left video shows the raw render of the cloth in 3D, and the right video is the final shot after the 3D simulation is comped in.
