This was a quick one-shot project I've worked on for a local TV commercial back in 2017. The footage was shot entirely in green screen and I was tasked to create a matte painting that would resemble the environment of Adam & Eve, a natural paradise with a forbidden tree.
Here are the initial layouts I've made before the final layout was approved. The most important thing in this phase is to try out as many different variations as you can while still maintaining the key idea of the scene. The top right was approved and selected.
Everything in the final matte painting is created with stock photos with the exception of the tree and the foreground grass, both of which were rendered in full 3D.
